6. Attitudes - Pt 2

Attitudes can easily be seen in our BODY LANGUAGE.

Such things as facial expression, posture, eye contact, touch, and gestures can give others an idea of what we feel about some issue.

Imagine three different people-one keen, one average, and one who couldn't care less-and without speaking, try to act out how their attitudes would come across at work.

What effect does it have on your work, and on yourself, when you feel:
bored, conscientious, angry, competitive

Do you think that the type of job you were doing would affect your attitude to it? Why?

What possible effect would these other things have on your attitudes to your job:
  • length of time at job
  • workmates
  • pay
  • your love life
  • your financial and or family commitments
  • your health

Are different attitudes needed for different jobs? If so, can you name some examples.

A useful indicator of what job might suit lies with your abilities and interests.
