* Choosing A Career

Jobs by Interest Area

The information in this section is deliberately organised in a slightly different way to make you think just a little harder about what features of jobs might suit you!

Using the results of the exercise you just completed, find out what each of the groups mean...

This is just ONE INDICATOR which can suggest the type of job that may suit you. There are many other ways/tests which can narrow down your choices. You should try some of them if you can.

What things are you INTERESTED in doing in your work? An interest in the activities involved in a job is important to satisfaction and liking of the job!

AGAIN, you should ask yourself: Do I have any ABILITY to do such things well?

If you find that you have BOTH an INTEREST and an ABILITY in any of these things, then that will suggest a group of jobs that you should consider looking more closely at.

Because you LIKE doing those type of tasks, and because you have an ABILITY to do them well, you would probably be very successful in those type of jobs.
